Corporate History
VSX - VOGEL SOFTWARE was founded in 1993 by the brothers Hanns-Henrik and Jens-Uwe Vogel in Dresden. Since that time the company has grown continuously.

The initial idea was both innovative and simple: The development of a computer program for the hydraulic selection and calculation of pump systems that stops the inconvenient search in catalogues for a quote generation. And the idea went down well: Today VSX is not only world market leader in the field pump selection software but also expanded ist product range and extended ist efforts to other markets. Thus a wide range of additional tools are offered and an online magazine is published that covers topics around the fluid handling industry.
2014 On 3 April 2014 Spaix users and prospective customers have met at the 2. Spaix User Conference in Dresden, Germany. Due to the modified concept, the second edition of the user conference provided participants not only user-related presentations but also practical workshops. The latter gave attention to special application cases in the program and offered the possibility to clarify upcoming questions directly with the VSX support staff. The event focused on the recently launched pump selection program Spaix 4 Pumps and gave participants and prospective customers a detailed overview about functionality and usability.

In August VSX concludes a distribution partnership with the Moscow-based company Piping Systems Research & Engineering Co (NTP Truboprovod) for the markets in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

In fall this year VSX extended its Spaix 4 product family by a compact version for pump selection and performance curve optimization. The product Spaix 4 Quick&Easy is especially suitable for small and medium-sized companies who are focusing on performance curve management and pump selection while only having a limited budget available.
2013 The latest generation of the pump selection software Spaix 4 Pumps is launched in October.

Also in October, VSX presents the re-designed corporate website www.vsx.net.
2012 At the Pump Users International Forum in Dusseldorf, Germany, VSX is presenting the prototype of the mobile application Spaix 4 Mobile for the first time.
2011 In February VSX starts its cooperation with EPI Pte Ltd. (Euroflo), which acts as the new distributor for Singapore, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.

In April the Spaix User Conference celebrates its premiere. In Dresden, Germany, Spaix user and prospective customers met to inform about detailed topics around the Spaix software solutions. The platform was intensively used for the exchange of experiences regarding the use of the software and gave valuable impulses for further developments. Moreover, a preview on the latest VSX product development, Spaix 4 Pumps, was given.
2010 VSX announced the support of one of the female youth handball teams of sports club USV TU Dresden. The company sponsors tricots for the next two seasons.

In December, VSX qualifies as one of the first companies for Gold status within the new Microsoft Partner Network (MPN). The company is now certified as Microsoft Gold Independent Software Vendor (ISV).
2009 In spring 2009 VSX - VOGEL SOFTWARE launches the further developed and extended version of the web-based pump sales software Spaix V3.

In mid-June the re-designed corporate website www.vsx.net is presented.

In October VSX launched the web-based version of pipe calculation software Spaix PipeCalc that complements the product range in the field of online solutions.
2008 At the beginning of the year the fitting selection program Spaix4Fittings is launched on the German market. At the end of the year VSX has 20 employees.
2007 Due to the positive company development the previous offices at Robert-Blum-Straße becomes too small and VSX moved again into the new facilities at Hofmühlenstraße.
2006 VSX - VOGEL SOFTWARE becomes Microsoft Gold Certified Partner.

Leading pump manufacturers decide for the new web based pump sales software Spaix V3.

The pump magazine impeller.net gets more than 100,000 readers within a month for the first time.
2005 The compact pump selection system Spaix Quick&Easy is developed and presented. The software solution is especially suitable for small and medium-sized companies and covers the features pump selection and performance curve management.
2004 Due to the wide spreading acceptance of Spaix Classic V2 VSX became one of Europe's leading suppliers of pump selection software. Clients are amongst others the world's largest pump manufacturers, e.g. ITT, KSB and Wilo.
2002 The second generation of the pump selection software Spaix Classic is presented.
2001 The Module for the duty point calculation Spaix PipeCalc was presented for the first time.

The pump search engine spaix.net was integrated to the Internet portal impeller.net.
2000 In February the first press releases were published in the Online Pump Magazine at impeller.net.

In March VSX - VOGEL SOFTWARE launched the pump selection software Spaix.

In October the global and comprehensive search engine spaix.net for centrifugal pumps was firstly activated for the use via Internet.
1998 The facilities were relocated from Bautzner Straße to Robert-Blum-Straße.

Extension of the international activities and change of the company name into "VSX - Vogel Software GmbH"
1995 Change of the company name as well as legal form: "VSI - Vogel Softwareentwicklung Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH"
1993 Set up of the company "VOGEL Software Entwicklung GbR" by the brothers Hanns-Henrik and Jens-Uwe Vogel.

The first pump selection software ipsi developed by VSX is launched.
