Spaix 6 Quick&Easy is a powerful, easy to handle and inexpensive software within the pump selection product family.
The Quick&Easy version was especially developed for small and medium-sized companies looking for a solution to manage their performance curves and pump selection. By focusing on the core functionality, the software is particularly user-friendly and easy to handle. Reliable pump selection is possible with minimal effort. While the software includes all functions for the pump selection and the work with performance curves, the pump configuration and quote management was deliberately omitted.

The user specific data stored in the database is linked to predefined selection parameters and calculation methods in order to select suitable pumps according to the user’s specification. To select the right pump, the user can choose between various pump selection procedures:
- Hydraulic selection via duty point
- Product search via description
- QuickSelector: fast, qualified hydraulic selection directly from the main screen based on Q and H specification
The hydraulic selection allows the sizing and configuration of pumps according to the operating conditions such as area of application, fluid, flow rate and head. Spaix 6 also supports the selection of several duty points, even for different fluids. The sizing is possible as single pump, as parallel circuit or series connection of several pumps of the same pump type. An additional module enables the sizing of different pumps in parallel circuit. In a single quest, it is possible to search for pumps from different areas of application or different suppliers (as far as available in the database). The simplified selection features an input screen for the necessary data whereas in the advanced selection the user can specify additional parameters. The definition of application limits and search criteria can directly be compared to the product properties of the individual components. Predefined input masks simplify the sizing of special pumping systems, such as booster sets, borehole pumps or process pumps.
Available in the standard package is the direct pump selection via series description and pump type. Precondition is the corresponding product knowledge of the user. After the pump selection, the user has the same functionalities as in the hydraulic selection.
Sizing pumps quick and easy by entering the desired duty point right on the main screen is also possible with Spaix 6 Quick6Easy. After entering the Q-H value as well as the rated frequency, the relevant series are limited and applicable keywords are available for further filtering. The relevant pump records are displayed without any intermediate steps, with the same functionalities as in the hydraulic selection.
The pump curves are automatically calculated by the software to match the respective operating conditions. The desired viscosity conversion method can be selected separately for each duty chart in the database and can also be deactivated, if desired. There are different procedures for the adjustment:
- impeller trimming, also with special specifications for multi-stage pumps
- adjustment of speed and calculation of speed performance charts
- throttling (via orifice diameter or ζ-coefficient)
- generic curve calculation using a factor with predefined exponents
A new feature in Spaix 6 Quick&Easy is the calculation of duty charts for multi-stage pumps with depreciation factor. This allows the visualization of the efficiency influence with low stages through the factor, without having to separately include the duty chart.
When it comes to speed correction of performance curves based on the affinity laws, there are different methods for efficiency depreciation. These can be specified individually for each hydraulic in the database. In the case of automatic optimization, the preferred adaptation method can also be defined in the database or optionally be specified by the user of the selection program.
All data in the information section can be maintained and provided via the data maintenance tool and offers the user an enormous benefit:

The names of external documents or the URL to a website, using Spaix keywords, can be generated dynamically according to the current configuration and the user settings. In this way, it is for example possible to conveniently integrate an external drawing or document library into Spaix.
The data maintenance tool is a versatile soft ware for the maintenance of the complete database and directly affects the selection program. The data administrator decides which parts of the soft ware are available to which user. The modular concept ensures a minimum data redundancy and shows different product structures.
The user maintaining the data can decide who receives access to the information and documentations. The selection program is adjusted accordingly.
Depending on existing data, there are several ways to enter curves into Spaix. Through the graphical user interface, the curve points can be entered directly and the settings for the display can be determined. The result immediately appears on the screen. If the initial data is available in Excel or text files then they can be simply transferred into the program using the Windows clipboard. If the information only exists on paper or as graphic file, the scanned curves can be digitalized for use by the software with just a few mouse clicks. For large amounts of data already available in digital formats, the automatic import through standardized interfaces is the best option.
Thanks to the multi-platform design of Spaix 6, the pump selection program can be purchased for the web, desktop (Microsoft Windows) and mobile platforms, with all platforms using the same database. Licensing of the application is per platform and takes the form of “license rental” (SaaS).

Spaix is available as a service-based subscription model (SaaS or Subscription), which allows the use for a predefined period of time. Here, the customer receives a complete package of software and service, including the rental of all licenses, software maintenance and support as well as hosting of the software solution.
