The HMS Group, headquartered in Moscow, Russia, has recently signed a contract with VSX – VOGEL SOFTWARE for the delivery of the pump selection software Spaix.

Russian-based HMS Group has recently decided on the implementation of Spaix pump selection software. The corresponding contract was signed in April 2011 by both parties.

Prior to the negotiations an HMS delegation consisting of decision-makers and specialists traveled to Dresden in order to personally get to know the German company and its employees. Moreover, the HMS pump engineers and IT specialists gained a detailed insight into the performance and flexibility of Spaix software solutions as well as its application possibilities. The program’s capability of displaying Cyrillic letters without difficulties was certainly an additional decision criterion. The program is already translated to over 30 languages what makes it especially suitable for global acting companies.

HMS Group is the leading pump manufacturer and provider of flow control solutions and related services to the oil and gas, nuclear and thermal power generation and water utility sectors in Russia and the CIS. In order to further optimize its internal and external sales processes the company is going to use the desktop as well as web version of Spaix pump selection software. The computer-aided solution enables a quick and efficient pump selection including the complete quote generation; thus it increases the company’s competitiveness. Besides the PumpSelector a comprehensive spare parts program will be implemented which offers an additional benefit for the user.

“The main reason for HMS Group’s decision for Spaix was that the program is a ready-to-use program solution whose functionality offers almost all features HMS was requiring” explains Mikhail Vasilevskiy, CIO of HMS Group. “Thus, a minimum of efforts was necessary to adjust the solution to HMS’s needs. Moreover, VSX has a wide

experience in implementing such solutions at similar enterprises worldwide.”

During the coming weeks all necessary technical and commercial data which are later available for the complex selection processes will be maintained in the Spaix database. Due to the flexible database organization all products can be indicated in different types and for several materials but also accessories and spare parts can be provided for the selection. Desktop and web version use the same database what minimizes the maintenance effort.
